BIOGRAPHY

Paul Hertneky has worked as a freelance writer and editor for 26 years, publishing hundreds of stories, fiction reviews, and essays addressing culture, history, health, the environment, cooking, food, the restaurant industry, and travel. His work has appeared in The Cleveland Review, The Sun, Defenestration, The Exquisite Corpse, several anthologies, newspapers, magazines, public radio, websites, and television. He has received two Pushcart and two James Beard nominations, as well as a Traveler’s Tales Solas Award. He is a former professional cook. His first book, Rust Belt Boy: Stories of an American Childhood, was published in 2016. For 17 years, he taught graduate writing courses at Antioch University New England and holds an MFA in Writing and Literature from Bennington College.
