BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Collins was born and raised in Pittsburgh PA. He attended the Pennsylvania State University and earned a BS in Liberal Arts (Criminal Justice). As a working adult, he went on to earn an MBA at the University of Phoenix and a Doctorate of Business Administration focusing on Management with Argosy University. His dissertation research focused on conflict management within online communications. Further, he also earned a Master's of Science in Software Engineering from West Virginia University. In addition to working as an adjunct collegiate instructor, Dr. Collins’ full-time profession is that of software Technical Program Manager for Amazon Alexa focusing on Automatic Speech Recognition Science initiatives. In the past, he has worked as a software product management for a healthcare system, a senior IT System Analyst, a departmental manager, corporate sales representative, and academic administrator. Dr. Collins resides in the suburbs of Pittsburgh PA with his wife, three dogs, and two cats. When he is not working, Dr. Collins enjoys spending time with his wife and pets, playing ice hockey and going to his cabin in the mountains of West Virginia (when possible). Dr. Collins and his wife also enjoy traveling! He has recently traveled to Europe including Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria, Hungary, Switzerland, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, and Romania as well as Israel. Dr. Collins loves working with adult students. Dr. Collins knows that education has transformed his life and he enjoys working with adult students who are using education to transform or improve their own lives.
